According to a February 2015 report from the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans, dubbed Workplace Wellness Trends, based upon interviews with 479 management and professional level employees of U.S. and Canadian firms, organizations seem to be somewhat split regarding the use of health-contingent incentives. The top reasons organizations offer health-contingent incentives are to motivate healthy behaviors (82.7%) and reduce health costs (74.7%) (Exhibit 8).
