After many years of offering rewards programs, employers are increasing the financial investment they are making in wellness incentives with the aim of encouraging employees to improve their health. In Redbrick’s 2015 survey, they observed the following.
Employers are still allocating the majority of incentive dollars to up-front participation in health risk assessment and screening, rather than to activities designed to drive behavior change, like digital coaching, live coaching and team challenges. The Median Incentive by Program was :
- HRA – $100
- Physical activity tracking – $100
- Biometric screening – $100
- On-site fitness center visits – $40
- Telephonic lifestyle coaching – $25
- Telephonic condition coaching = $25
- Team challenges – $45
- Digital coaching – $20
